Tennessee medical cannabis task force hears pushback, support

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The long debate about medical marijuana played out again Thursday on Tennessee’s Capitol Hill as skepticism was mixed with passionate support.

It came at the first meeting of the task force appointed by the two legislative speakers to look into the issue.

Medical Cannabis Task Force Chair Rep. Jeremy Faison minced no words in addressing law enforcement officials who have long been against legalizing marijuana for medical purposes.

“Whether you are ready or not marijuana is coming to America,” said Faison referencing that more than half the states already have some form of medical cannabis.

Preds to Host Lightning in Rookie Games at Ford Ice Center

Nashville, Tenn. (September 6, 2017) – Following the cancellation of the 2017 Rookie Tournament in Estero, Florida, due to Hurricane Irma, the Nashville Predators announced Wednesday they will host the Tampa Bay Lightning in a three-game rookie camp series at Ford Ice Center in Antioch, Tennessee, from Sept. 9-12.

The two teams will face off on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. CT and Sunday, Sept. 10 at 12 p.m. CT before reconvening on Tuesday, Sept. 12 for the final game at 11 a.m CT.

All three games will be open to the public. Along with Nashville’s ongoing hurricane relief efforts, the Predators will be collecting $10 donations at the door benefiting Hurricane Irma relief.
